Large Camp Bird Mine Quartz Crystal Cluster Colorado Mineral Specimen 6 lb 15 oz For Sale

Large quartz crystal cluster from the historic Camp Bird Mine near Ouray, Colorado. Featuring numerous large milky quartz crystal points, this substantial display specimen presents well from multiple angles and is an excellent example from one of Colorado’s most famous mineral localities.

The Camp Bird Mine is renowned for producing high-quality quartz and ore minerals from hydrothermal veins associated with Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. Millions of years ago, hot silica-rich fluids circulated through fractures in the surrounding rock. As these fluids cooled, dissolved silica crystallized into quartz, gradually forming the large intergrown crystal points seen on this specimen.
