Very Good! - Circa 1955Ideal gift for special occasions or collectors, very collectible item. Made in Brazil, in native wood & glass. It has very light signals of use in the handles, but very good condition in main space, more than reasonable for its +65 years of age; it maintains its beauty and fulfills its function. No original packaging.
Vintage Brazilian butterfly serving tray (taxidermy or souvenir art style) made between the 1930s and 1960s.
Main Features
Materials: Features a fine wood frame with a decorative marquetry or wood inlay edge in contrasting tones.
Contents: A collection of real butterflies is displayed beneath a protective glass. The centerpiece is the striking and vibrant blue Morpho butterfly, native to the South American rainforests, famous for its iridescent blue hue that changes color depending on the light.
Use: These were very popular handcrafted pieces in Rio de Janeiro, serving as high-end decorative souvenirs for tourists. They were used both for serving at home and as wall hangings, like botanical displays.Measurement:
