Offered here is a collection of 12 original vintage issues of Leatherneck: Magazine of the Marines dating from 1972 and 1973. Published for the Marine Corps community, Leatherneck documented Marine life, training, aviation, overseas assignments, history, traditions, personalities and important events through articles, photographs and period advertising.
These issues were published during the closing years of the Vietnam era and provide an interesting contemporary look at the Marine Corps of the early 1970s. The collection contains a particularly attractive variety of photographic and illustrated covers featuring Marine aviation, field operations, ceremonial units, historical subjects, training and holiday artwork.

ABOUT LEATHERNECK MAGAZINE
Leatherneck has long been associated with the history and traditions of the United States Marine Corps. Unlike a modern retrospective publication, these magazines provide a contemporary record of Marine Corps life as readers saw it in 1972–1973.
Inside, collectors can expect the characteristic mixture of:

CONDITION
These are original magazines more than 50 years old and show normal age and handling wear. Visible condition includes varying degrees of edge and corner wear, cover rubbing, minor creasing and age toning. Several issues retain an original mailing/address label on the front cover, adding to their authentic period character.
