Description & History
Kissing Cranes is a Solingen, Germany cutlery brand with roots tracing to the 19th century. The name and crane logo refer to a traditional Solingen trademark. Robert Klaas produced knives under the Kissing Cranes brand for the U.S. market for many years. On the blades the name is often shortened to Robt Klaas. The brand is known for traditional slipjoint patterns with solid construction and clear Solingen markings. Original boxes typically feature the crane logo and “Quality Solingen” or “Quality Since 1834.”
This KC0032 is a three-blade stockman with red synthetic scales, brass bolsters, and the gold Solingen cranes shield. The blades are marked Robt Klaas Solingen Germany with the cranes logo. The knife remains in its original Kissing Cranes box marked KC0032. Construction and markings are consistent with Robert Klaas production for the Kissing Cranes brand.
Kissing Cranes / Robert Klaas knives from Solingen are collected for their traditional patterns and recognizable branding. Unused examples still in the original box are less common than used pieces and appeal to collectors who prefer condition. The combination of the red handles, three-blade stockman pattern, and original packaging places this knife within the traditional German slipjoint production offered under the Kissing Cranes name.
Kissing Cranes Robert Klaas KC0032 red handle three-blade stockman. New in the original box. About 3 5/8–3 3/4 in. closed. Made in Solingen, Germany.
