Takenaka Kenji (b. 1957) is regarded as an accomplished contemporary Bizen potter of the LNT Isezaki Jun lineage. He is especially known for combining traditional Bizen firing with a refined sense of design, producing tea wares, sake vessels, flower vases, and sculptural works that often display a broader palette of natural firing colours than classical Bizen. He established his own kiln in 1994 and has exhibited widely at Japan\'s leading traditional craft exhibitions. Before turning to ceramics, Takenaka worked as a jewelry designer, an experience that continues to influence his work through its refined sense of composition, colour balance, texture, and presentation.
