KNIGHTIA ALTA COMPLETE FOSSIL OF GEM MUSEUM-QUALITY IN 6.5 IN. MATRIX. FROM THE GREEN RIVER EOCENE FORMATION IN WYOMING. Beautifully prepared display of the complete 4 inch Knightia-- a dramatic, and difficult to find open mouthed pose in such quality condition.Most of the fossilized fish excavated look like they were resting prior to death-- NOT THIS ONE, which looks like it\'s about to devour something, with mouth wide open!
Delicately and artistically excavated from the matrix, nearly complete and showing even the smallest details of the bones !The matrix is a full 6.5 inches long and 4 inches wide-- and in nearly perfect condition.Purchased in the 1980s, along with several other fossils, and stored in our warehouse ever since, this fossil is still in virtually the same mint condition as when we bought it.In addition to this fossil, we have a smaller one of two Knightia-- with two nearly complete fish of 3\" and 1.5\", and a much larger one of a 7 inch Priscacara in a 12 inch matrix with another smaller fish it looks about to devour.
