This lamp was essential equipment for cyclists and motorists before electric lighting. This was popular being known for its reliability and quality construction. Circa 1900-1920
On the front Metal plate with Jos Lucas & Son’s No. 109759 King of the Road , patented in England , patented in USA July 23rd 1889
The sides have etched red and green glass. The front has a large window. Under the red window there is No. 160442. The piece is heavy metal , it was painted black and note paint is worn off in parts. Knob and latch on side to open but my hands couldn’t get it open. Many photos to go over. Collectors very interested in early cycling and automotive history and pre electric age.
