This is an antique Japanese saw.
It was used from the Edo period through the Taisho period to cut large trees lengthwise.
Since it is a relatively new piece, the blade shows almost no wear and should last for many years to come.
Because it is a large saw, it is called an “ōga” in Japanese.
It is in excellent condition and has outstanding balance.
It retains plenty of teeth, and the blade has a wide back width.
Saws with a wide back width are rare.
Although there are no markings indicating its place of origin, it is in excellent condition with minimal rust.
This is an extremely rare item.
Before use, please polish the blade with sandpaper or sharpen it with a file.
This item is recommended for collectors.
