This is a Japanese makie incense container (kogo) featuring a turtle design.
The piece is made of rare kurogaki (black persimmon wood) and decorated with traditional makie lacquer.
Made by Nakamura Soetsu.
Comes with original wooden box (tomobako) with signature.
Condition: Unused item.
