Japanese cast bronze water dropper (suiteki) modelled as a reclining water buffalo, its legs folded beneath it, with a herd boy lying along its back and a woven straw hat slung at its side. Finely detailed: incised hair, ridged swept-back horns, and a closely patterned basket weave to the hat.
A working dropper: filled through the opening at the side, poured from the spout at the mouth. Green deposits inside both openings from use.
