Original Chronopak desk clock designed by Irving Harper for George Nelson & Associates and manufactured by Howard Miller.
The Chronopak was introduced in the late 1940s and became part of Howard Miller’s important series of modern clocks developed with the Nelson office. This battery-powered example is likely a later production version, possibly dating to the 1960s–1970s.
The clock features a sculptural walnut spherical case, black graphic dial with white geometric hour markers and hands, convex glass face, and a brass-tone circular stand. The compact form and abstract dial make it a particularly strong example of mid-century American design.
Dimensions: approximately 6.75\"H × 5.5\"W × 5\"D.
Good vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. The walnut case shows light scratches and finish wear, the brass-tone stand has patina and oxidation, and the glass has some surface scratching and general wear.
The clock is battery powered and currently runs, but does not keep accurate time. Large hand slips if picked up. It will need servicing, adjustment, or movement repair/replacement if intended for regular practical use.
