Material & Authenticity

• 100% Genuine Fossilized Whale Bone: Hand-carved from a contoured cross-section of an ancient whale rib bone.
• Cortical Bone Properties: The highly polished upper body features a smooth, waxy lustre with thousands of microscopic pinpoint pores.
• Trabecular Bone Properties: The unpolished matrix sections showcase the classic, porous, honeycomb-like marrow structure.
• Natural Organic Patina: Features elegant cream, amber, and tan mineral freckles accumulated over centuries in the Arctic permafrost.
• Completely Unsigned: Free of any artist signatures or markings, perfectly consistent with mid-century traditional cooperative works.

Artistry & Design Details

• Anatomical Accuracy: Features the prominent raised head crown used by Bowhead whales to break through thick sea ice.
• Baleen Plate Detailing: The mouth is meticulously detailed with finely incised vertical striations representing baleen filters.
• Dimensional Depth: A deep, recessed shadow line is carved beneath the chin to make the whale pop three-dimensionally.
• Wrap-Around Layout: The whale's flipper cleanly wraps around the side profile into a stippled, matte-textured background.
