This Illinois Army National Guard Command Chief Warrant Officer challenge coin represents one of the most senior warrant officer leadership positions within the stateβs Army National Guard. Its Illinois-shaped profile, CW5 command identity, and extensive warrant officer symbolism give this particular design considerably more specificity than a general National Guard coin.
The obverse brings together the Army warrant officer role in unusually detailed form. Raised lettering identifies the warrant officer as Technical Expert, Advisor, Trainer, and Combat Leader, surrounding the historic Warrant Officer Rising Eagle and an array of branch insignia representing the broad technical reach of Army warrant officers.
