Post Civil War Leather Album of the New York State Assembly 1866 CDV Photos of NY Politicians
156 Original CDV photographs of New York politicians in a handsome leather album, stamped on the cover with the name of Edmund Levi Pitts(May 23, 1839 – July 11, 1898), an American lawyer and politician who served as a member of theNew York State AssemblyandNew York State Senate.
Pitts used the last 10 pages of the album for miscellaneous photos of friends and family members (and perhaps some other politicians).
A remarkable collection of portraiture from 1866. The album latches and the exterior is in good condition, but the inner pages have come loose, as pictured.
Measures 10.75 inches x 8.25 inches x 2.5 inches thick. Weight: 5 lb, 13 oz.
I’m also listing the 1867 album, as well as 3 rail passes belonging to Hon. Edmund L. Pitts.
