This is a genuine Herbert Hoover Autograph Letter Signed (ALS), consisting of a fully handwritten note signed “H.C. Hoover.” Unlike many Hoover examples found on the market, this piece is entirely handwritten rather than typed correspondence bearing only a signature.
Originates from San Francisco (1901 Pacific Ave), adding historical significance from his early career period.
The accompanying Shafran Collectibles Certificate of Authenticity specifically notes:
“Hoover is RARE in handwritten material.”
Hoover’s preference for dictation and typed correspondence resulted in relatively few surviving handwritten notes and letters compared to many other presidents, making authentic Hoover ALS material particularly desirable to presidential autograph collectors.
