The photograph shows the three celebrities seated together during a Hollywood social gathering associated with Sonja Henie.
Hedda Hopper is pictured at left wearing one of her distinctive elaborate hats, Van Johnson is seated in the center in formal evening attire, and Sonja Henie is seated at right.
The reverse is handwritten “Van Johnson” and “Sonja Henie” and bears a period photographer stamp reading “Photo by Irving Antler” with Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles identification.
