“Heaven’s Melody, Hell’s Audience”
Suspended somewhere between the heavens and a place far less forgiving, this ceramic plate captures a scene that feels like a hymn played backwards. At its center, a celestial angel—serene in posture yet unsettling in presence—plucks at the strings of a harp bent into the shape of a crescent moon. The instrument curves like a pale grin in the night sky, each note imagined rather than heard, as if the melody exists only for those willing to linger too long.
But the tranquility fractures at the edges.
Encircling this divine performer is a grim halo of scattered baby doll heads, each one frozen in expressions that range from vacant calm to distorted delight. Their placement is not chaotic, but deliberate—as though they are an audience, or perhaps offerings. Their lifeless gazes pull the eye outward, creating a slow spiral from celestial grace into something far more disquieting where even angels seem to play for an audience that never blinks.
