Vintage Mexican Mermaid Wall Plate — Attributed to Dolores Porras — $200Expressive ceramic mermaid plate with raised details, earthy terracotta colors, and a beautiful blue tail.Dolores Porras (1937–2010) was a celebrated potter from Santa María Atzompa, Oaxaca, Mexico. She helped transform her community’s pottery tradition through colorful glazes and imaginative designs featuring mermaids, animals, flowers, and human faces. This piece strongly resembles her distinctive work, although the faded marking on the back is difficult to read, so the attribution is unconfirmed. Two small holes hold the hanging wire. These may have been part of its original construction as a wall hanging, but I cannot verify when they were made. Please see photos for details and condition.
