I was blessed to find and buy a number of these 30 years ago. Beware of the fakes and bad copies on with the uneven surface between the raised parts. They charge as much if not more, and for crap.
These medals were issued to Ethiopian soldiers who fought against the criminal and murderous invasion of Ethiopia by Italy 1935-1941. They feature Emperor Haile Selassie I in front (formerly known as Ras Tafari Makonnen) with crossed swords underneath.
The third photo shows the actual Ethiopian law authorizing these medals and specifying everything about them, especially the accurate TRANSLATION of the front and back.
Not all of the ribbons are as flat as this one. Some could use a little gentle ironing.
