Guinness Time Crab Pint Glass John Gilroy Advertising Art Beer Glass:
$59.99

Vintage Guinness pint glass featuring the wonderfully odd John Gilroy “Guinness Time” crab advertising artwork.

The front features the bright red crab carrying a pint of Guinness beneath “GUINNESS TIME,” along with the fantastic little line, “Have this one with me!” The reverse carries the classic GUINNESS name and harp.

The crab design originated in Guinness advertising in 1935 and is part of the celebrated work created for Guinness by artist John Gilroy. This listing is for the vintage Guinness glassware featuring that historic advertising image — not a claim that the glass itself was manufactured in 1935.

MILWAUKEE WATER STREET PROVENANCE

This glass comes from a large collection of vintage Guinness glassware with genuine Milwaukee bar history. The collection came from a family that owned multiple bars in Milwaukee’s historic Water Street bar district, and these glasses came from one of those establishments.

The collection included an incredible variety of Guinness advertising designs used during the bar’s years of operation. This “Guinness Time” crab is one of the standout designs from that collection.

CONDITION

Very good vintage condition. The artwork on this group is crisp, clean and strongly colored with excellent overall presentation. No chips or cracks observed.

I have 15 examples in this premium-condition group. Each glass has been individually inspected and selected for especially strong artwork. The glass you receive will be comparable in condition to the example photographed. As vintage bar-used glassware, minor variations or light signs of previous use may be present.

This listing is for ONE glass.

MEASUREMENTS

Approximately 6 1/4" tall

Approximately 3" across the rim

Please review all photographs for measurements, artwork and condition.

A terrific piece of Guinness advertising history with an added bit of Milwaukee bar history — and a crab who appears entirely unwilling to surrender his pint.
