Original antique real photo postcard (RPPC) featuring a spectacular exhibition of trained horses at the Elkhart County Fair in Goshen, Indiana.
Outstanding early 1900s photograph showing two beautifully trained horses performing before a large crowd of spectators. One horse is standing on a raised platform while its female rider sits in the saddle, and a second horse performs nearby with a formally dressed male rider.
The background is filled with spectators wearing period clothing and hats, with a large covered viewing stand, white wooden fencing, and fairground buildings visible.
The original photographic caption reads “15. Trained Horses, Elkhart County Fair, Goshen Ind.”
Published by J. Ingold of Elkhart, Indiana, with the photograph credited to Howe Photo Co.
Postally used with a September 30 cancellation, apparently from the early 1910s, and a one-cent Benjamin Franklin stamp. The reverse contains a handwritten message addressed to North Carolina.
An exceptional historical image combining early Indiana county fair history, trained horses, equestrian entertainment, and a wonderful crowd scene.
Excellent crossover appeal to collectors of Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana fairs, horse photography, equestrian performances, and early American entertainment.
Condition as pictured with typical age-related wear, some toning, and light surface imperfections. Please examine both sides for details.
