This is a factory-sealed Gerber Magnum L.S.T. (Light • Smooth • Tough), SKU 46038-BLACK / UPC 013658460386. Black checkered glass-filled nylon handle, 3-1/2" drop-point high-carbon stainless blade marked GERBER 800, original ballistic-nylon sheath. Made in the USA at Gerber’s Portland, Oregon plant during the Fiskars years. The knife has never been out of the blister — mint, unused, factory edge.
Card specs: 3-1/2" blade, .125" stock, 8-1/8" open, 4-5/8" closed, 4.2 oz. Old store sticker on the card reads $74.97. Security sensor still attached.

Condition Notes
Knife is mint and still factory sealed. Never opened, never carried, never sharpened. The blister card has yellowed with age and the black sheath shows light storage spotting on the fabric (visible through the plastic). Security sensor remains on the card. Sold as new-in-package / unused knife with original aged retail packaging. Judge from the pictures.
Description & History
Joseph Gerber started Gerber Legendary Blades in Portland in 1939 as a cutlery gift business. By the late 1970s Pete Gerber wanted a lighter everyday folder than the metal-handled Folding Sportsman pieces. He brought in designer Walter “Blackie” Collins. Collins put a one-piece injection-molded glass-filled nylon handle on a lockback and cut the part count to a handful of pieces. The result, introduced around 1980–81, was the L.S.T. — Light, Smooth, Tough. It was one of the first mass-produced folders built around a synthetic handle instead of wood, bone, or Micarta slabs, and it sold in huge numbers.
The Magnum L.S.T. is the large hunter-size version of that idea: 3-1/2" drop point, 4-5/8" closed, about 4.2 oz, sold with a ballistic-nylon sheath. Fine-edge black 46038 / 06038 ran from about 1989 until Gerber dropped the Magnum around 2010. This card is the Fiskars-era Portland package — “A Fiskars Company,” Portland service address, family lineup of Magnum L.S.T. Serrated, Gator, Gator Serrater, and the smaller L.S.T. on the back.
It is USA production from the Portland factory, not the later imported LST / LST Mini line. The Magnum is discontinued. Sealed blister examples are what collectors want.
