Georgian Needlework Sampler Dated 1827 – Stanion – Framed Woolwork
A beautiful and original Georgian needlework sampler dated 1827, worked by Stanion, and presented in a later ebonised frame.
This is a genuine early 19th century piece featuring traditional motifs including alphabet bands, stylised trees, and decorative borders, along with a central verse. The age and hand-worked detail give it a strong decorative presence, ideal for period interiors or as a statement wall piece.
The sampler retains wonderful originality, with clear signs of age that add to its authenticity and charm.
Measurements: Height: approx. 44cm
Width: approx. 34cm
Depth: approx. 2cm
Condition: Good original antique condition. There is visible age-related wear, including areas of loss and fading to the fabric, consistent with its early 19th century origin. The frame is later but suits the piece well. Displays beautifully with strong character.
Summary: A highly decorative and increasingly desirable Georgian sampler, perfect for collectors, interior designers, or period property styling.
