Pair of authentic Georgian-era British naval buttons, dating to approximately 1770–1810.
The front features a three-masted sailing ship under full sail, a classic motif associated with the Royal Navy and naval auxiliary services during the Age of Sail.
Surrounding the ship is a Latin devotional motto reading “DEUS SALVA NOS” (often rendered or abbreviated as Nos Deus salva), translating to “God save us.” Such religious invocations were commonly used on 18th-century naval and military items as prayers for protection at sea.
