That's exactly what this old metal sheriff's badge says.

But that's part of what makes this badge such an interesting little survivor.
### The Badge
This is a substantial, 56.2 mm (2.21-inch) metal sheriff's star, not a little modern lapel pin.
It's made from nonmagnetic, die-stamped metal with raised Mickey Mouse artwork, a gently curved shape, and an old-fashioned pin on the back.
It shows wear from age and handling. The kind of wear you'd expect from something that wasn't necessarily intended to spend its entire existence sealed in a plastic collector's case.
And the slogan? “Too Tough to Die” recalls the famous Western nickname of Tombstone, Arizona — *The Town Too Tough to Die.*
### How Many of These Are Still Around?
That's a good question.
We've searched for another example of this exact Mickey Mouse sheriff's badge, including its unusual slogan, and haven't found one.
That doesn't mean it's the only one in existence. But it certainly doesn't appear to be something you encounter every day.
Maybe it came from a Western-themed Disney souvenir collection. Maybe it was part of a children's cowboy outfit. Maybe somebody once wore it while patrolling the neighborhood on a Schwinn Sting-Ray, keeping the peace between the kids with cap guns and the kids with slingshots.
