This striking antique French solid brass double inkwell dates to the late 19th century and showcases the Aesthetic Movement's intricate design sensibilities, with stylized scroll work, etched foliate patterns, and a raised floral slip trail along the edge of the attached geometric tray. The inkwells feature ornate hinged circus tent lids and decorative floral details. Each vessel houses a white porcelain insert to contain your choice of ink. The tray is slightly elevated on two disc pedestals underneath that provides stability. Standing approximately 4.25" in height, the tray measures 11" in length and 6" wide. The inkwell is in beautiful antique condition with no dents, dings, oxidation, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections.
