Rare antique Spanish copper repujado jug attributed to Eulogio Blasco of Cáceres, Spain.
Beautifully hand-worked repoussé/repujado decoration featuring stylized classical female figures, including nude figures, along with botanical and ornamental relief.
Blasco was a highly regarded Spanish artist and master of repujado metalwork. Published research documents multiple copper jugs and pitchers of this type by Blasco dating to 1927. Based on the documented examples, construction, decoration and technique, this example is attributed to Blasco and dated to the 1920s. The exact date of this individual example has not been independently established.
The piece retains a wonderful aged patina and displays the character expected of antique hand-worked copper.
