The Apothecary is a series of poker decks inspired by the concept of transforming the changing nature of the seasons into physical items, created by Seasons Playing Cards, and printed by the United States Playing Card Company on Aristocrat stock and coated with magic finish. The Elixir decks are the penultimate addition to the Apothecary series; their back design features a circle that symbolizes the cyclical nature of the changing of the seasons. Gold Elixir decks feature a premium black tuck, intaglio engraved in gold, cards with gold gilding, and white card stock; while the White Gilded Elixir decks are exclusive to the Cabinet of Curiosities Boxes, feature a white and gold tuck box, intaglio engraved in gold and the cards are holographic gilded.
Both the Gold Elixir and White Gilded Elixir decks come in a Burlwood Cabinet of Curiosities Drawer Box. Only 188 of these boxes were made and they were only released via the Kickstarter campaign. The box is lined with black felt, has gold-hot foil stamping inside the drawer, holds two decks, has a black ribbon to help take the decks out, and has hidden magnets in the box walls permitting it to \"magically stack\" with other cabinets from Seasons Playing Cards.
