F.A.I.P.
FINE ARTS IN PLASTER
GOLD & CREAM HUES(APPROX. 29\" TALL SHADE 16\" WIDE )
Frederick Weinberg started his furnishings career with plaster sculptures
in the postwar period. This period between art deco and mid century
minimalism opened the door to new artists with different sensibilities
and styles. Weinberg worked for many years for FAIP, Fine Arts In Plaster,
a firm dedicated to producing \'Fine Art\' in the medium of plaster.During the forties this included \'giftware\' type sculptures which would
adorn shelves or tables and which were extremely popular.
In the early fifties FAIP branched out into lamp manufacturing.
Frederick Weinberg did much of the designs at this time until
leaving FAIP to start his own furnishings company. This FAIP lamp is great testimony to the Weinberg aesthetic.Weinberg had one line he went back to again and again
in his designs and you see it here in this lamp\'s details.
A curving, sensual line that has great eye appeal. This lamp is in great condition and has been well preserved for
over sixty years! A treasure for the discerning collector!
