This postcard features a beautiful full-color view of the historic DeBary Mansion in DeBary, Florida. The image shows the grand two-story home with its elegant wraparound porches, tall white columns, and wide shaded verandas. Lush palm trees, Spanish moss, manicured lawns, and a large sago palm frame the scene, giving the property a classic Old Florida atmosphere. A few visitors can be seen on the front steps, adding scale and charm.
The back includes printed information describing DeBary Mansion as a 100-year-old historical and cultural center and former home of Count DeBary. It notes its location between Sanford and DeLand, near Highway 17-92 and Interstate 4, and lists visiting hours. The postcard is stamped and mailed with a 10¢ “People’s Right to Petition for Redress” stamp.
A handwritten message fills the left side, mentioning a long but interesting 19-hour train ride, cool and windy weather so far, and hopes for warmer days ahead. The card is postmarked 1981 and addressed to Silver Spring, Maryland.
A great collectible Florida historic home postcard with strong architectural and landscape detail.
