Up for sale is this pair of arts and crafts era copper bookends. Please excuse any glare in the photos. The bookends have radial hammering and cutout designs. Each bookend is approximately 4 inches wide, 4 3/16 inches tall, and 3 9/16 inches in depth (front to back). They feel heavy for their size, weighing 1 pound 3.8 ounces, unpacked. This set would look fantastic in an arts and crafts decor.Identification
The bookends are unsigned but were made by Dirk van Erp. Page 27 of Gus Bostrom\'s Bay Area Copper 1900 - 1950 Dirk van Erp & His Influence shows a very similar set (same shape with a different cutout design). In 2014, another similar set (same shape, very similar cutout design) was exhibited in Isak Lindenauer\'s Dirk van Erp exhibition. The exact age of this set is not known, but they are antique. The bookends look very overall, with minor wear to the patina. There are some fine, scratches and scattered dark spots. The bottoms have shelf wear, as shown. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to offerding or buying.Terms of Sale1. Payments
