This ELEGANT cotton and wool 1880's "barn raising" log cabin quilt is all hand pieced, consisting of backed blocks hand pieced together (two layers), without an overall back or binding edge (the edge is unfinished). The pieces measure an incredible 1/2" per side.It measures 62" X 72" and is in very good condition, with a handful of wool pieces with a few moth nibbles. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall.
The back consists of the various early cotton fabrics from the late 1800's, and the batting, if any, is very thin.
