✨ A beautifully preserved example of one of the most charming cards from the classic Pokémon EX era, Cubone 60/112 Reverse Holo from the 2004 EX FireRed & LeafGreen expansion, professionally graded CGC 9 Mint.
Featuring Aya Kusube\'s atmospheric artwork, a striking reverse holographic finish, and the distinctive Poké Ball pattern associated with the expansion, this exceptional card captures the artistry and nostalgia of the early Nintendo-era Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Combining a beloved original-generation Pokémon with a memorable EX-era design, this Cubone represents a wonderful addition to any vintage Pokémon collection.
🌿 A Classic Pokémon from the EX FireRed & LeafGreen Expansion
Released in 2004, EX FireRed & LeafGreen celebrated Pokémon\'s original Kanto region, revisiting many of the iconic creatures that helped establish the franchise.
Inspired by the Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen video games, the expansion combined familiar first-generation Pokémon with the distinctive artwork, mechanics, and holographic treatments of the EX Series.
Among its memorable cards is Cubone, the Lonely Pokémon, known for its emotional backstory and unmistakable skull helmet.
Numbered 60/112, this card features Cubone resting peacefully against a richly textured background filled with intricate patterns and atmospheric details.
Illustrated by Aya Kusube, the artwork beautifully captures Cubone\'s quieter, more vulnerable personality, offering a touching interpretation of one of Pokémon\'s most recognisable original creatures.
🌟 The Distinctive EX FireRed & LeafGreen Reverse Holo
What makes this particular example especially appealing is its EX FireRed & LeafGreen Reverse Holo treatment.
Unlike traditional holographic cards, this reverse holo features an eye-catching reflective finish across the artwork and card surface, incorporating the distinctive Poké Ball design associated with the expansion.
The effect creates a striking contrast between Cubone\'s warm colouring and the vivid blue-green holographic details surrounding it.
This card showcases several defining characteristics of the era:
Poké Ball Reverse Holo Pattern: The distinctive reflective pattern adds depth and visual character to the card.
Holographic Artwork: Shimmering blue, green, and silver highlights complement Aya Kusube\'s atmospheric illustration.
Classic EX-Era Design: The yellow borders, original card layout, and vintage typography evoke the early 2000s Pokémon TCG.
Original Kanto Pokémon: Cubone remains one of the most recognisable and emotionally memorable Pokémon from the franchise\'s first generation.
Unlike many later EX-era reverse holos, which prominently feature expansion stamps, EX FireRed & LeafGreen reverse holos are recognised for their distinctive holographic treatment.
These features make them particularly attractive to collectors interested in the evolving design history of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
