Offered is a vintage Conrail commemorative writing set marking “The End of an Era — 1976-1999.”
The set includes a matching ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil featuring brushed silver-tone barrels with blue accents. Both pieces display the CONRAIL name and logo, along with:
The End of an Era
1976 - 1999
The matching pieces are housed in their fitted black presentation/storage case with clear cover.
The 1976-1999 dates commemorate Conrail's operating history from its creation in 1976 through the 1999 acquisition/division of most of its railroad assets between CSX and Norfolk Southern, making this an interesting piece of Conrail history for a railroadiana or transportation memorabilia collection.
Included:
- Conrail ballpoint pen
- Conrail mechanical pencil
- Original fitted presentation case
Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition with light signs of age, handling and storage. The clear case cover has visible surface scratching. Graphics on the writing instruments remain attractive and legible. Due to age, ink/refill performance is not guaranteed. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
This item comes from a large personal collection of railroad memorabilia. I do my best to identify and describe vintage items accurately. Please review all photos, which are an important part of the description, and feel free to ask any questions before purchasing.
