Mission San Juan Capistrano mileage sign.
Up for sale today is this California guide sign, giving distances of 33 miles to Mission San Luis Rey de Francia and 62 miles to Mission San Gabriel Arcangel. Made to the exact 1915 standards as used by the Automobile Club of Southern California. ACSC posted a sign like this at each mission along El Camino Real, showing the distance to the nearest mission in either direction.
An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. It would be worth many thousands of dollars, if it even survives at all. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without breaking the bank...or making use of a time machine.
The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 7 lb. 12 oz., and is 27 by 11 inches. If you would like a different size, please do not hesitate to inquire.
This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective replica sign — perfect for indoor or outdoor display. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
I can of course make these signs with any destinations and distances of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic boundary, direction, and city limit guide signs from bygone eras. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
Figure about 9 lb. 12 oz. for shipping, packed carefully and mailed from zip code 61833. Our signs are only printed when you buy them. Allow about 10 business days for manufacturing, in addition to the usual delivery time.
The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake.
