This is a RARE find!

Printed in 1936 in Liverpool , England, by C. Tinling & Co., Ltd. Vintage at 90 years old, almost antique, hard-bound, still in Very Good to Excellent condition. 154 pages. The cover is black with gold lettering. All pages are intact.

This Book of DIVINE SERVICE was used onboard ships in the combined Cunard White Star Line Fleet during Sunday morning religious services, conducted by the chaplain or sometimes by the Captain, using primarily scriptures and prayers from The Book of Psalms, as found in the Church of England’s Book of Common Prayer.

Notice on pages 14-15 that KING GEORGE is mentioned. And in the footnote of these same pages it is mentioned that: On Passenger Steamers employed in the Company’s service to and from ports of the United States of America, the words “and the President of the United States” to be used.

The dimensions of the book are approximately 7.00 inches x 4.50 inches x .50 inches.

I believe that this rare and highly-collectible book will only appreciate in value in the coming years.

I purchased this book in 1995, onboard Cunard’s QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 during the 1995 World Cruise. It was sold in the Cunard / White Star Line Vintage and Antique Memorabilia Shop, managed by the onboard Librarian. I was actually working onboard the QE2 at the time, in the Tour and Travel Office, just aft of the Grand Lounge, which some of you may remember.
