Like New. Signed football print is clean and well preserved with Byron “Whizzer” White’s autograph in ink beneath the image. Includes the accompanying provenance letter and copy of correspondence on Supreme Court of the United States letterhead. No third-party authentication is included.

Signed print featuring Byron “Whizzer” White in his 1940 Detroit Lions uniform. White personally signed the print beneath the image.
This is an especially interesting piece because White had remarkable careers in both professional football and American law. He was an All-American at the University of Colorado, played professionally for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Lions, and later served as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1962 to 1993.
Included with the print is a handwritten provenance letter explaining that the owner sent the picture to White in 1996 and that White returned it signed. Also included is a copy of White's handwritten response on his retired Supreme Court chambers letterhead stating:
“Sorry, but neither card is of me. But here is an autograph.”
The accompanying material provides useful provenance connecting the autograph to White and makes this a distinctive crossover collectible for football, Supreme Court, and political-history collectors.
