British JG Versailles Pattern Blue Transferware 9 7/8 Inch Plate C. 1840-1850s D For Sale

British JG Versailles Pattern Blue Transferware 9 7/8 Inch Plate C. 1840-1850s DNice pearlware dinner plate decorated in the Versailles pattern in blue transfer. Attributed to John Goodwin in some references, but according to the Transferware Collectors Club that attribution is unlikely. Circa 1840s to 1850s. This plate does not have the JG mark usually associated with this pattern, but has an incised mark on the bottom similar but not identical to a printed Copeland mark. Has crazing typical of pearlware and overall staining of the type that may soak out, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 7/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece. KR
