This is a truly unique piece that I was inspired to make recently. I really like how it turned out.
I took all the nice transparent glass colors I could get, and then made different crystal shapes. I knew I was making a crystal cluster garden, but I wasn\'t sure what it would go on. But then I got image of this bubbler in my mind, and knew that was what I had to do.The colors of the wig-wag patterning on the bubbler are the same colors as the crystals, just backed with white. I like a bubbler that is solid color since they don\'t color up nice like a dry pipe, and just get dirty looking.
It might make it a little hard to figure out the correct water level until you get used to it, but you can tell pretty good just by taking a pull on it and seeing how it bubbles.
The whole piece is thick all throughout. After I made it I wasn\'t happy about how easy it was to tip over, so I added some small marbles to the base, and now it sits securely and is not easy to tip.
This piece is a functional artwork. I\'ve signed and dated it. It should only increase in value. I\'ve been blowing glass for over 25 years, and have a lot of work out there already, and I\'m not ever quitting.
