This small letter is addressed to \"Mrs. Huntington\".
Unfortunately, I do not know who this woman was.
The letter is folded, so that there are four small pages.
Unfolded, the letter is about 4\" by 7\".
The address on the letter is \"1 Via Giulia\".
This is one of the most famous streets in Rome.
The date of the letter is June 20, 1908.
As best I can tell, the letter reads as follows:
Dear Mrs. Huntington,
I am very sorry that
I cannot accept
your kind invitation
to dinner on Monday
as I am going with
a friend for a
long motor drive on
that day & I am
afraid I shall not
be back till late
but I hope to see you soon -
Many thanks for
asking me -
I am much better
but do not feel
quite strong of air (?)
yet - as my attack
was a sharp one -
Yours Sincerely
A. C. Stanley
Bishop of Emmaus
P.S. My \"Supplica\"
(????) you is not a
permission (?) to see the
Crypt - but it is only
to ask for one - I
hope you understood
you have to take it to
the Vatican yourself.
The letter is in good condition, with some splittingwhere the paper is folded, and some general wear.
