This is an unused Benchmade 943BK Osborne AXIS lock folder. Black-coated CPM-S30V clip-point blade, black anodized aluminum handles, factory blue titanium backspacer. Made in the USA. The 943 is the discontinued clip-point sibling of the 940 — not the reverse-tanto model.

New in box and unused. Factory black coating and factory edge. This is the clip-point 943BK, not a 940 reverse tanto. Black coatings can show light box rub — judge the blade face, clip, and screws from the photos. What is pictured is what ships.
Description & History
Warren Osborne designed the slim Benchmade 940 family. The 943 keeps the same AXIS lock, aluminum handle, and 3.4" length, but uses a straight clip point instead of the 940’s reverse tanto. The 943BK is the black-coated S30V version with black 6061-T6 scales and the color-anodized titanium backspacer.
Benchmade dropped the 943 while the 940 stayed in the catalog. Boxed 943s still move with collectors who want the clip-point Osborne unused. USA made. Not a numbered limited run — a discontinued production model that is no longer easy to find new.
