Please see my response. I have been selling amber fossils for over 15 years on anddo not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sourcesnot glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions.
This is a fully polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a cricket with a wasp next to it from the Cretaceous Period.
What makes this piece exceptional is that it has a lovely purple (violet) color when viewed in natural sunlight! This is due to the natural fluorescent properties of this amber fossil.
NOTE: The first 5 pictures and the last one were taken under natural sunlight to show the purple color.
The cricket measures 4 mm in length.
These insects were around when dinosaurs such as T-Rex and Triceratops were on the Earth!
The piece itself weighs 1.1 grams with approximate dimensions of2.3 cmlength by1.5 cm width and0.3 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.
Burmese (Burmite) amber has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaursand is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar(Burma).
InDecember of 2016,a portion of the tail of a small dinosaur wasreported in a piece of burmite amber, and inJune of2017, a nearly complete extinct bird was reported in this material!
Pleasesee my other resin fossils including Dominican amber with inclusions, largeColombian copal with inclusions, and very rare Indonesian ambers (some oflovely blue and green color).

This amber will ship worldwide. I will combine items to save on shipping for up to a 7 day period and usually ship within a 24 hour period.
Please note that the saltwatertest to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwater testclaims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.
However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant)composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense thansaltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response should helpdemonstrate this.
