This listing is for "Bataashi Kingyo" Vol. 1-4 Complete Set by Minetaro Mochizuki. Written in Japanese.【About the Story】
A unique and eccentric youth sports love comedy centered around Kaoru Hanai, a wild and unpredictable high school boy who joins the swimming club for a pure yet absurd motivation: to chase after Sonoko, the girl he fell in love with at first sight. Moving away from traditional high-pressure sports manga, this masterpiece captures the stylish, raw, and vibrant energy of Japanese youth in the late 1980s.【Significance in Mochizuki's Career】
This legendary series is the brilliant debut masterpiece of Minetaro Mochizuki, a genius manga artist who later shook the global comic world with "Dragon Head" and "Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl." His signature bold lines, cinematic panel layouts, and unmatched pop-subculture sensibility all originated from this single title. It represents the very roots of 90s Japanese alternative culture.【Collectible Value】
Despite being a vintage comic printed over 30 years ago, this set has been preserved in good collectible condition. The iconic neon orange and blue spines retain their classic appeal—a wonderful piece of 90s Japanese manga history for collectors.【Condition】
