This listing includes Volumes 1 through 6 and appears to be the complete series. Published in its original Japanese format, the books preserve the authentic artwork, cover illustrations, and reading experience exactly as intended for readers in Japan. Complete sets like this are considerably harder to source than individual volumes, especially outside the Japanese secondhand market.
Bata Ashi Kingyo follows the eccentric and determined Kaoru Kaibara, a high school student who joins the swimming club in hopes of winning the affection of the girl he admires. What begins as a humorous school romance gradually develops into an entertaining story about perseverance, personal growth, youthful ambition, and the unpredictable emotions of adolescence. Minetaro Mochizuki's expressive artwork and distinctive storytelling style helped establish this series as one of his early signature works.
Collectors value original Japanese editions because they preserve the creator's intended presentation, original dialogue, and period artwork. Whether you're a longtime admirer of Minetaro Mochizuki or searching for an uncommon classic that represents an important stage in his career, this complete Japanese set is a rewarding addition to a serious manga collection.
