In this card effect the performer begins by removing a deck of cards from his pocket and after giving the deck several cuts, he then removes a felt pen from his pocket and marks an \"X\" on the back of one of the cards. After this is done, the performer then loses the card with the \"X\" on it\'s back in the deck by giving the deck several more cuts. The performer then calls on a spectator and asks that he remember one of the cards in the deck as he slowly riffles the cards in the deck onto his left hand.

This being done, the performer then takes the deck and turns it face up. He now states that he will deal cards face up onto the table and asks the spectator to stop him upon seeing the card which he is \"thinking of\". Now when the spectator sees his card the performer then places it right out in front of the spectator leaving it face up. The performer then turns over the card previously dealt saying \"you could have chosen this card\" or \"this one (now turning over the next card to be dealt) or any of these other cards\" turning the cards over showing all the cards and their backs to have no markings on them whatsoever. Only the spectator\'s freely thought-of card bears the heavy X on its back.
