Authentic White Mountain Apache Burden Basket — Hand Woven by Francine Livingston
This is a genuine, documented White Mountain Apache burden basket, hand woven with the traditional coiled willow construction and geometric banded pattern. The basket comes with its original maker's tag identifying it as made by Francine Livingston, White Mountain Apache.
The rim is finished with hand-wrapped buckskin, and the basket features leather straps with silver-tone concho medallions for carrying. Long buckskin fringe drops from the base and sides, each strand finished with a hand-rolled tin cone "jingler" — a traditional Apache design element historically used to make sound while carrying the basket through the field.
