Art Nouveau Cast Brass Briefmarkenhalter - Rococo Baroque Style Stamp Box - Feet:
$225.99

This vintage Brass Art Nouveau Briefmarkenhalter is a stunning desk piece that features Rococo Baroque Style. It's a perfect accessory for any collector or enthusiast who collects desk and writing instruments. This item is made from high-quality brass material, which ensures its durability and longevity. It was crafted in Germany and carries a unique charm that transports you back in time. The well measures 5-3/4 inches across by 3-1/2 inches wide by 1-5/8 inches tall. The piece is made from heavy cast brass with a repoussé or embossed finish, displaying characteristic asymmetrical flowing curves of the Art Nouveau era.

This Brass tabletop piece has been lovingly used, however, it looks in excellent condition. It is beautiful and functional. It can serve as a desk stamp box or add to a collection.

An antique Art Nouveau or Rococo-revival cast brass desktop postage stamp box featuring an ornate embossed floral scroll design and a hinged lid, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Designed as a desk accessory to hold postage stamps in an organized, sloped compartment under a hinged lid.

The closeup photos reveal the marked base containing the German patent marking "GES. GESCH." (short for Gesetzlich Geschützt, meaning "Legally Protected" or copyrighted) along with the manufacturer's numeric mold number.

Identification Summary Origin: Made in Germany or Austria, dating from circa 1890 to 1910.

Details: The numbers stamped inside the bottom rim (such as the visible "5" and faint surrounding numbers) are mold/model pattern indicators used by the foundry to track the design.

Interior Design: The three distinct interior sections feature a subtle sloped ramp. This structural detail is highly intentional; it allowed the users to easily slide individual postage stamps upward with a finger without them getting stuck in flat corners.

Estimated Market Value Based on recent sales of identical German and Austrian Art Nouveau cast brass 3-compartment stamp boxes, the current market value typically ranges between $55 USD and $105 USD depending on the specific retailer and venue:
