Large mixed collection of approximately 200 vintage mounted 35mm color slides devoted primarily to art history, museum collections and fine art.
The collection includes images of European paintings, religious art, sculpture, museum objects and other historical works of art. Numerous slides have handwritten or commercially printed identifications noting artists, titles, museums, dates or art-history classifications. Visible subjects include works associated with Piero della Francesca, Gossaert, Mantegna and other Old Master and Renaissance artists.
The lot contains a mixture of Kodak Kodachrome, Ektachrome and other commercial slide mounts. It appears to have originated as an educational, academic or personal art-reference collection. The slides would be suitable for collecting, projection, art-history reference, collage, mixed-media projects, theatrical props or vintage photographic displays.
