Antique Catholic religious chromolithograph titled “The Interior of Christ’s Grave,” dating to approximately 1904–1915.
This richly detailed devotional image depicts Jesus Christ resting in the tomb, surrounded by mourning angels, hanging sanctuary lamps, candles, flowers and Eucharistic imagery. The radiant IHS/JHS Christogram appears above Christ. Instruments of the Passion—including the cross, ladder, hammer, nails, spear and vessel—are arranged in the foreground.
Displayed under glass in an ornate black-and-gold composition or gesso-decorated wooden frame. The frame retains its original aged character, backing board and hanging wire.

CONDITION:
Antique condition with significant age-related wear. The frame has areas of chipped and missing decorative material, finish loss, scuffing, exposed wood and separation at some corners. The print shows age toning, fading, surface marks and possible rippling beneath the glass. The backing board and hanging wire also show considerable age and wear.
The frame is fragile and should be handled carefully. Please examine every photograph closely, as the photos form an important part of the condition description. Sold as found and unrestored.
