Wonderful two day cased set of straight razors made by Wade & Butcher of Sheffield England, likely in the 1860s.
This set features a beautiful leather wrapped case embossed and gold gilded with the Federal Eagle. This original case is in great shape for its age!
The razors are matched frame backs with highly polished buffalo horn scales. Both razors are in good condition with only one small bug bite and a few light scratches. The blades retain their full shape and show no sharpening loss. There are some edge chips present. Both razors have a jimped choil and a thick overlayed frameback.
These are fantastic razors by the most prominent razor maker of the 19th century. Very hard to find matched cased sets in this condition, especially with patriotic motifs.
Closed length: 6-1/2”
Blade from tip to tail: 5-5/8”
